Things To Do When You Take A Trip To Australia

Shamu Attack Video - Surely, Australia is the smallest continent and can be described by many other superlatives. It is known as the flattest continent as well as the driest inhabited continent. To counter these implausible descriptions, this country and continent is the home of the world’s largest coral reef, that is, the Great Barrier Reef. It is also where Mount Augustus can be found, which is known to be the world’s largest monolith.

Dawn Brancheau - Together with this country’s rich history is their rich natural resources. When Australia is mentioned, we immediately think of cute marsupials such as koalas and kangaroos. But more than that, its alpine heaths, tropical rainforests, and marine life boast of a large biodiversity. In fact, it has the largest number of reptiles of any country, with 755 species.

It is indeed a shame if you visit the country and not experience its natural wonders. Here are just few of the things that you can do to experience Australia’s mega biodiversity:

1. Be in the company of the ever lovable koalas. As a child, you surely have a favorite teddy bear. You choose to keep it even though it is already old and dirty. Why not live again those sweet childhood memories by being in the company of live teddy bears, which are, the koalas. You can go to Kangaroo Island to meet these cute creatures. In this place, you will also meet other lovable animals such as sea lions, wallabies, platypus, and bandicoots.

2. Swim with the world’s biggest fish. Many people are scared at the mere mention of the word whale shark, which is known as the world’s biggest fish. If you are one of these people, shake off your fear as whale sharks are actually gentle underwater giants. You can do this by swimming with them on Ningaloo Reef.

3. Visit at least one national park. A nature trip in the land down under will not be complete if you do not visit at least one of its natural parks. One good example is the Kakadu National Park where you can have a first-hand experience of the beauty of the country’s rainforest. This place is also the right place to go if you want to have a first-hand look at the Aboriginal cultural artifacts.

4. Experience the underwater spectacle of the Great Barrier Reef. Australia’s natural wonder will not be the same without the famous Great Barrier Reef, and you just cannot afford to miss and experience the spectacle it brings, especially if you are a lover of marine life.

If you are a person who just loves to travel, there are indeed lots of reasons why you should get yourself an Australian tourist visa. Besides its natural wonders, Australia also boasts of vibrant and classy capital cities, which include:

1. Sydney, NSW. This city is a combination of urban lifestyle and natural wonder. It is where the world renowned Opera House is located and it is filled with world-class shopping centers. In Sydney, you can also go kayaking under the Harbor Bridge.

2. Melbourne, Victoria. The city prides of known shopping precincts, sophisticated restaurants, and a flourishing art scene.

3. Brisbane, Queensland. It is a melting pot of the old and new. In this city, you will find gardens, sandstone cathedrals, and skyscrapers all together. Some of the activities that you can do include riding a bike through the City Botanic Gardens and exploring urban villages.

4. Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The capital city of Australia, Canberra is the place where you can find more about the country’s sport heroes by going to the National Institute of Sport and Science, or explore its political history at Old Parliament House.

Examining the Symptoms of Menopause

Fitness For Women - Women may know that menopause is a normal and inevitable part of their lives. However, they may lack some knowledge as to the changes that could happen to their bodies during this stage in their life.

Fitness - The change of the levels of progesterone and estrogen, which are the two female hormones that are produced less and less during menopause, could bring about different symptoms. While women may have less problems or none at all when it comes to menopause, there may be others that may feel some slight to worse discomfort.

Common symptoms of menopause and what can be expected from them:

* Irregular periods. One of the symptoms of menopause that can be experienced first is the change in the menstrual period. Usually this could be noted by their irregularity. They could also be lighter than normal or heavier periods.

There are women who would experience heavy bleeding for a number of days. Periods that last for more than ten days or are experienced after three weeks or less are also common symptoms. Vaginal spotting in between periods may also occur.

* Problems with the bladder or the vagina. As the levels of estrogen change, the body tissue found in the genital area can become thinner and drier. This dryness can cause painful sexual intercourse for women. Right before menopause, it is also possible that a vaginal infection may be experienced.

As you age, it is even expected for women to start having problems with their urinary tract. These could be in the form of infections and trouble in holding the urine when you need to urinate or may experience what is known as urge incontinence. Women might also experience problems in holding their urine when they cough, sneeze, laugh, step down, or run or what is also called as stress incontinence. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is best to see your physician.

* Hot flashes. Getting a hot flash is very common during the stage before menopause. This is characterized by experiencing a sudden radiation of heat on the upper extremities of the body or all over. Usually your neck and face would become flushed and red blotches may be seen on your back, chest and arms. This could be followed by cold shivering and heavy sweating.

While flashes can be as mild as just having a light blush, they could also be severe enough to wake you up from a very sound sleep, which is also known as night sweats. Most hot flashes last from 30 seconds to five minutes and should go away within a few years from the start of menopause.

* Sex. Using birth control should not be stopped unless a whole year without getting a period is already experienced. This is if you no longer want to get pregnant. When menopause begins, it is common to experience a change in your feelings toward sex. Because of hormonal changes, sexual arousal may be difficult. There could also be discomfort during sexual intercourse because of the vaginal changes that may occur.

However, there are also others that might feel sexier and freer after menopause. This is because there is already no risk for pregnancy.

Other possible symptoms of menopause include fatigue and problems in sleeping. There could also be mood shifts and changes to the body like loss of muscle mass, increase in waistline size, loss of skin elasticity and heightened appearance of fatty tissues.

Don't Make Simon Cowell Do Your Parents' Dirty Work

Simon Cowell, as a judge on American Idol, has earned himself somewhat of a reputation of being cruel when telling contestants when they haven't quite measured up. People are often shocked at his brutal honesty and (perhaps) lack of tact. But, in some ways, he may just be doing the contestant a favor. One the contestant's parents should have done.

The fact is that, in our modern western society, we have reached a point at which we don't want to say anything to a child that may hurt his feelings; even when it may be more beneficial for the child to be truthful. One word that is seldom used these days when raising children is the terrible word no. Oh, little Jimmy wants an all ice cream diet. Sure he's morbidly obese and already has diabetes at the age of 12, but if I say no, his little feelings will be hurt.

So what ends up happening is that by not hurting a child's feelings, we jeopardize his health. Now the above example is extreme but I think it illustrates a point. The point being illustrated is that telling people something nice for the sake of not hurting their feelings isn't always the right thing to do. Sometimes honesty is the best approach.

Among the harsh realities of life is that, to actually get good at something, you usually have to apply yourself. That includes music. To become a good musician, it may involve some level of dedication and hard work. You may even (dare I say it?) have to practice. You may even have to crack open a book and study some music theory. I know this may seem like a radical approach but there are some people out there that think that this approach actually works.

One approach a parent can take when a child is interested in music is to give a compliment and then follow it with the criticism. A parent could say "I like that, but if you changed this, I think it would be even better." You got the criticism in of what's wrong, directed them towards where they can fix what's wrong but you also made a point of complimenting them in the process. Complimenting them in the process softens the blow of the criticism.

A child needs to know that in order to excel at anything, they need to apply themselves. Telling them that everything they are doing is flawless doesn't achieve that. This could apply to anything we attempt to teach our children, not just music.

Some may say to me "what makes you such an expert on raising children?" I say in return: "I'm not an expert on raising children." My expertise lies in teaching people about how to play guitar and how to learn music theory. I understand how important music theory is as well as how important it is to apply yourself in order to become a good musician.

In my experience of teaching guitar and music theory, I have come across a number of people who, prior to having met me, had very little understanding of how much they would need to apply themselves in order to excel as a musician. I believe that quite often it is as a result of their parents never explaining to them that applying themselves is a prerequisite to getting good at something. Sometimes the parents will do that with some things but not with music.

Music is often seen as something fun or enjoyable to do and not often seen as work. Unfortunately, if you want to do it as a profession, then you have to actually "work" at it. That means that you have to take it a bit more seriously than the average person who is just playing guitar as a hobby. That's what separates a professional from an amateur or wannabe.

So if Mom and Dad never told you what you should work on in order to improve as a musician, then you may want to do a self-assessment. If you're a singer, tape yourself. Listen to your self and try to be honest. Don't get too discouraged if you finally come to the realization that you're not as good as you thought you were. There are ways of fixing that. It's called practice. If you play guitar or some other instrument, you can do the same. Tape yourself. Be somewhat critical. Are you playing in time? Are you playing the notes clearly?

If you adequately assess yourself as a musician, apply yourself and work on your faults, you will get better. There is no doubt of that. And if you do that, then maybe someday Simon Cowell or someone like him won't have to do your parents' dirty work. Maybe Simon will tell you that your performance was great! At least with him, you know he's not just saying that to spare your feelings.

Became a Disaster in Production

Unfortunately for the "Kingdom of Heaven", what started out as an ambitious epic film about a little known time in history, became an almost disaster at its release and was only average at best. There is enough blame to spread around.

First, there is a reason why the immortal "Gone with the Wind", which involved a turbulent love affair in the American south during the Civil War and Reconstruction, took almost 4 hours to see. You apparently cannot make a quality, classic film about the Civil War in less time. Ken Burns' acclaimed documentary film "The Civil War" consisted of 9 episodes and took 11 hours to view.

Second, there may be a market for a film in the Middle Ages about the Christian Crusades, a series of military expeditions by Europeans to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims in the 11th, 12th and 13th Centuries. That market, regrettably, is very small compared to an epic about the Civil War, World War I or World War II.

Third, when 3-time, Best Director Oscar-nominee Ridley Scott ("Black Hawk Down", "Gladiator" and "Thelma and Louise") presented the film to the studio at 194 minutes (3 hours and 14 minutes), the studio execs demanded that it be cut to two hours, believing that moviegoers would not sit through a 3-hour film.

This proved to be a critical mistake in judgment. It was nearly impossible for Scott to tell the Kingdom of Heaven story in 2 hours, and when the movie received really mixed reviews and proved to be a financial disappointment in the United States, the error was clearly noticeable.

Fourth, not only was this film to be an epic story, its production cost was enormous. Most of the filming was in Morocco, and Mohammad VI, King of Morocco, provided 1,500 of his military personnel with accompanying equipment to help in the filming.

In addition, there were apparently 15,000 handmade costumes for the film that also required helmets, boots, gloves, chainmail, belts and scabbards. The flag budget for the film was $250,000. There were 7,500 weapons, 3,000 shields and 20,000 arrows used in the film. In one scene alone, there were 143 extras, 60 military personnel, 125 horses and 60 camels.

A massive replica of Jerusalem was constructed in the Sahara Desert, containing 28,000 square meters of wall that required 6,000 tons of plaster. The front set was 1,200 feet long and the walls were 56 feet tall. Good grief.

Fifth, writer William Monahan's first draft of the script was 186 pages. Executive producer Lisa Ellzey thought Fox would never approve the script because of its length, so she cut it to only 20 pages before submitting it.

Sixth, Orlando Bloom was not ready to play the leading role as Balian of Ibelin, and his performance did not reflect the kind of command and presence necessary to pull it off.

Seventh, I had great difficulty as a moviegoer following the story as its presentation required much more help in context, or from a narrator, to understand what was happening when and why it was important.

Eighth, the sound in the film was terrible. There were times when it was impossible to understand the dialog and, without this essential element, there is no way the film would be rated good by my standards. Sound is too basic of a need to succeed and, when it goes unnoticed because it is well done, it is not an issue.

Ninth, this whole project was sad from start to finish. What could have become a good film could not overcome the obstacles along the way. Two bright spots in the film were the performances of Liam Neeson as Godfrey de Ibelin and Ghassan Massoud as Saladin, the great Muslim leader.

In his quest to be noble, Liam Neeson was able to deliver this dialog as Godfrey de Ibelin: "Be without fear in the face of our enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath." (Spoken to his son, Balian, when making him a knight.)

History records that Saladin and his Muslim troops did recapture Jerusalem after defeating the King of Jerusalem at the Battle of Hattin near the Lake of Galilee. When Saladin's soldiers enter the City of Jerusalem, they were not allowed to kill civilians, rob people, or damage the city.

In many ways, the Muslims come out looking better than the Christians in Kingdom of Heaven, and historically, they were.

Lots of Options for Bad Credit Credit Cards

Do you have a less than perfect credit history? Or maybe you have no credit history? Or perhaps you have really bad credit? Are you afraid that you will never get a credit card again? No matter what your credit history, there are lots of options for bad credit credit cards out there. Just about anyone, regardless of their past credit mistakes and flaws can get a credit card. You may have less options than people with perfect credit, but do not despair! There are still lots of options for you, you just need to know what to look for.

Chances are if you do not have very good credit and apply for one of those 0% APR finance, no fees or balance transfer offers that you see advertised, you will not get approved. Those offers are typically only available for people with stellar credit. So, you may have to dig a little deeper. However, a quick Internet search for bad credit credit cards will show you your choices. A common option for people with bad credit is an unsecured credit card. So, what is an unsecured credit card? It is pretty much a line of credit. How high it is will depend on how good your credit history is. You should plan on paying off the balance of your card every month. You should also plan on paying some fees in order to have this type of card. An application fee, a maintenance fee, an annual fee and higher interest rates are all common with an unsecured credit card.

Another option for people looking for bad credit credit cards is a prepaid credit card. These cards work about the same as a gift card. They can be convenient and often times do not have as many fees as an unsecured credit card. However, unlike unsecured credit cards, they will not help to improve your credit history. If you want to have more options for credit cards, it is important that you work on improving your credit history and these cards will not help you with that.

So, as you can see even if you do not have prefect credit and these days, who does, you can still get bad credit credit cards. However, once you obtain one of these cards, it is up to you to make the payments on time so that you can work towards better credit in your future.

Recent Developments In China Air Pollution

China has seen great economic development over the decades. This has taken place largely to the benefit of their population, but some problems have arisen. China air pollution has become quite a significant concern. They are aware of it of course and some progress has been made in rectifying it. That said, they have a long way to go.

Since 2007, China has been the world’s #1 emitter of greenhouse gases, making air pollution in Asia, including China, a serious global issue. It is at least as serious a problem for the Chinese people. China air quality contributes to the deaths of three quarters of a million people every year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
China’s economic growth, combined with industrial equipment that could now be replaced with cleaner technology, is largely responsible for the current China air pollution situation. A major example is cement making. China’s construction and infrastructure-building boom have led the to this country becoming the world’s leading maker of cement. Just over half the worldwide output now comes from China. Concrete production is polluting and highly energy intensive and methods currently used in China compound the problems. Many producers use inefficient shaft kilns, which the West started to abandon at the beginning of the 20th Century. Overall, 6% of the nation’s electricity is used in operating cement-making plants, and much of it is wasted. These unscrubbed kilns also emit vast quantities of mercury, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, particulate matter, and other substances of interest. Unscrubbed means the facility is operated without the use of additional technology specifically designed to reduce emissions.

Much of the power requirement of these kilns is met by old-fashioned, unscrubbed coal-burning power plants. Almost 70% of China’s electrical demands are met using coal. The overwhelming majority of China’s greenhouse gas emissions come from this type of source and fuel.

These issues came to the fore during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, which opened with the city clouded in smog. Although the skies did clear up, to what degree air quality improved is a subject of speculation. The Chinese government closed the only independent agency monitoring air pollution in Beijing, the Cambridge Environmental Research Consultants (CERC), for the duration of the games. The data available comes from either independent, but untrained journalists, or the Chinese government and the impartiality of these numbers has been identified as suspicious. Even if the Chinese officials accurately reported China air quality statistics, the standards used for comparison leave something to be desired. While they consider any day with a particulate matter rating below 100 to be a “Blue Sky Day,” the WHO draws their line at 50.

They are making some efforts to reverse their trend towards ever-greater China air pollution. Their reforestation project, “the great wall of green,” will become the world’s single greatest re-planting of forest when completed. However, the country’s progress in other ways has been less promising. In 2000, their government promised that it would reduce the China air pollution by 10 percent by the year 2005. Howeve

Sammy Kerispatih Akhirnya Tertangkap
